The Rich History of ENCORE

Founded on the principles of togetherness and unity, the ENCORE began as a grassroots gathering of folk and Americana musicians seeking to create a space where music could bridge divides and bring people together. Established in 1986 in West Virgina, the festival started as a small community event, featuring local artists and storytellers sharing songs rooted in tradition and shared human experiences.

Over the years, it grew into a nationally recognized celebration of folk and Americana music, drawing renowned artists and passionate fans who value the festival’s warm, inclusive spirit. Beyond the music, the event fosters a sense of unity through workshops, jam sessions, and storytelling circles, encouraging collaboration and connection.

Today, the festival continues to honor its founding values, serving as a beacon for artists and audiences alike who believe in the power of music to create community and inspire change.

ENCORE celebrates folk and Americana music with soulful performances, storytelling, and interactive workshops. Rooted in unity, it offers jam circles, artisanal vendors, and a welcoming atmosphere where music connects hearts. Whether dancing by the stage or sharing songs by a campfire, attendees leave with a renewed sense of community and the magic of tradition.
